This kit includes everything you will need to repair your screen door latch mechanism. The inside handle (parts B, C, D, E) come pre-assembled and ready to install. All of the components mount in their original places using the same mounting holes. No modification are needed for installation.
The heavy duty aluminum parts are much stronger than the original plastic ones. We also supply two shorter screws to mount Housing (part C). This Housing has thinner mounting tabs so the original screws are to long for this application. YOU MUST use the shorter screws to mount the new housing or you will strip out the holes in you screen door.
This kit can also be used to install an inside door handle to doors that use the similar looking door latch (part F) or E285. This will require adding a small slot in your screen door frame and drilling two holes to mount the inside housing assembly. All other holes will line right up.
WARNING!
This, (or the original) inside handle are not designed to be used to close both doors while they are connected. Use the outside door handle to close both doors or you could break the new assembly.
